Ever wanted to have Hanami with family and friends, but never had a chance to do so, all because of too busy?
How about having a Hanami in your office, and enjoy the Sakura tree on your table!
You heard it right!
Hanami is the Japanese traditional custom of picnicking under Sakura trees (Cherry Blossom), where people sit down under the tree and enjoy the view as well as socializing.
Hanami usually happened in between March and Mid-April, but not everybody get the chance to enjoy it first hand in Japan.
But now you can enjoy a little Sakura tree on you from your office table, blooming within 24 hours.
It might sound impossible, but this mini Sakura tree is made up of special paper.
This mini tree is called Magic Sakura, blooming just like a real flower.
Picture above is the packaging of Magic Sakura that is currently available in the official website.
Magic Sakura is a product made byOTOGINO, and was released yeasterday, 10 March 2010.
Honeysuckle is blog produced by JAP-On! Member, Ezura. A keen otaku from Brunei who loves to socialize with fellow otakus as well as reporting on a wide range of topics related to where she lives and around the world!
A famous japanese company named Docomo made a partnership with Q-Pot, a jewelry brand known for having unique and great-looking designs, and they made a peculiar type of cellphones, model SH-04B. Made to look like nothing more than….chocolate!!!
It has the functions of a normal cell phone, what really makes it so special is this awesome (and yummy) design. The phone even comes in a type of “chocolate box”, and has some special add-ons within it. It’s more to look at it than to talk about it, so let’s see some more pictures:
Bizarre Japanese Toys is up for another toy introduction: The Lokuloku Pig.
What about having an adorable pig that retains its shape even after being completely squashed through to the ground? This toy costs only the equivalent of 3 dollars, and still it’s one of the most amazing (and bizarre) in Japan. It is sold in many other colors.
Below is a video showing how it works. Really crazy.
I’ll start showing here a series of bizarre toys you can find in Japan, from the most technological to the most simple and crazy. As it will be too much things to show, and to not make such a long post, these posts will be separated into each for a particular object/toy, and it’s also because it will be a recurring subject. Then these series will start with a really interesting one found in the internet: the Hex Bug.
The Hex Bug is a simple little robot designed as a bug. And not just designed!! He actually acts like a bug and has sensors that can react to touching and sounds, as well as detecting a barrier/wall and then turning themselves away from it. They are powered by two button cell batteries, and there’s a lot of nanotechnology involved as you can see in the picture below.
These interesting little fellas were developed to have that “smart brain” factor, that most robotic inventions from Japan have these days. A lot of models were made, including ants, crabs, spiders, ladybugs and even two more called inchworms and nanos. They might look hideous as insects, but they can also be really adorable.
Comments, anyone? Think you can handle a Hex Bug in your home? XD
It’s been all over otakus’ blogs, everywhere in every corner of the internet.
Bleach fans have been outraged to learn that the comic has apparently been the subject of shameless plagiarism in the American comic book “Incarnate” by Nick Simmons.
Simmons is also alleged to be freely helping himself to scenes from Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, NANA, Dogs, and others. Meaning Incarnate isn’t made of only one manga, but several. He has yet to offer any comment on the matter
[UPDATED]
For more scenes, visit animeclick.it(please note that it’s not an English site, but you’ll get more scenes from both Bleach and Incarnate)

PS3 users with any model older than the new slim PS3 need to stop playing their systems if they don’t want to lose any of their save data permanently.
According to Sony, bugs have caused a problem in the clock functionality within the PS3 (the fat ones) system. You won’t be able to log in to your Playstation Network accounts and games will not launch.
Quoted from Sony(Playstation Blog):
The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.
When the user tries to sign in to the PlayStation Network, the following
message appears on the screen; “An error has occurred. You have been
signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)”.
When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears
on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; “Failed to install
trophies. Please exit your game.”
When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the
Internet, the following message appears on the screen; “The current date
and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)”
Users are not able to play back certain rental video downloaded from the
PlayStation Store before the expiration date.
Once again we have a new poster for the blog, that will be me Kabuto! YAY!!!

Tokyo already proved and keeps proving that their technology is the best. AND the weirdest. Most people already know about the Capsule Hotels, where instead of a room you get a cell to sleep on. That’s right. To anyone who doesn’t know about it, I’ll show some pictures here.
As you see, the person can fit well into the “boxes”, with just a possible problem of comfort. But looks like an adventure, huh?
You all can share your thoughts of this japanese unique feature. ^^
