Free Blue Dragon's 1st Episode on iTunes

The North American publisher Viz Media has announced that the first episode of the Blue Dragon anime series is available for free until March 10 on Apple's iTunes Store. The free offering marks the availability of the first 13 episodes in the series on the online digital media store. The anime adapts an Xbox 360 roleplaying game that was co-created by Final Fantasy's Hironobu Sakaguchi and designed by Dragon Ball creator and Dragon Quest game designer Akira Toriyama. It tells the story of Shu, a boy who protects his village from an ancient enemy by invoking the Blue Dragon from his own shadow. For the anime version, director Yukihiro Matsushita (Maria-sama ga Miteru, Zipang) worked with Studio Pierrot(Bleach, Naruto). Tsuneo Ninomiya (Maple Town Stories, Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie) adapted Toriyama's designs and Megumi Oohashi (Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO, The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye) expanded upon Nobuo Uematsu's game music. Offer only applies to US Residents only. (Unless you know a way to get an US  iTunes Account for free ;) ) Click here to get the 1st Episode of Blue Dragon on iTunes for Free!

Blue Dragon Promo

"Shadows born from the light of the soul". It's the idea that people whose souls are full of positive energy have these protective shadows that take form of mythical creatures like dragons and phoenixes.
That's what the new game Blue Dragon is all about where the characters acquire their shadows from arts that survive only through ancients, but the story is about these characters liberating their own souls and ultimately producing their true shadows themselves. Game Overview: One year has passed since Shu and his companions defeated the tyrannical remnant of the Ancients, Nene. In the midst of the battle, the world split in two and now consists of a myriad of “cubes” that exploded from its depths. In one of these cubes, King Jibral stands on the balcony of Neo Jibral Castle and surveys the scene before him. He notices a mysterious cube in the distance suddenly start to move violently, and from it he sees the Shadow of a Balaur, a three-headed dragon, emerge. The enormous and sinister Shadow is just the beginning of the new turmoil and devastation to come.
